I’ve been in New York pretty much my entire life, so I understand how absurd the media can be, and how the fanbases overreact over EVERYTHING.
But this year is a new low.
After ONE game for both the Yankees and Mets, here has been the talk on NY Sports Radio:
Girardi had Brett Gardner bunt with a man on second. It’s probably best the Yankees fire him.
Sabathia was a terrible signing. He’s just like Randy Johnson, Kevin Brown and every other bust the Yankees have signed. His best years are behind him. It’s probably best the Yankees cut him
Teixera is a bum. Orioles fans booed him, he went 0-4. He can’t handle the pressue of New York. It’s probably best the Yankees cut him.
In completely opposite fashion, Mets fans think that Sports Illustrated was right, and that Bud Selig should just give the 2009 WS Trophy to them.
Yesterday, the talk of NY Sports Radio was:
1. Will Daniel Murphy WIN THE MVP?
2. Will Daniel Murphy WIN THE TRIPLE F’N CROWN?
3. Will Daniel Murphy be a Hall of Famer?
4. David Wright went 1 for 3, was on base 3 out of 5 times, but none of that was clutch. It’s probably best the Mets cut him.
ONE game has been played. The season in 9 innings old.
All this stuff sounds like pretty level headed analysis.
For Sure NOT.
