Asian MLB Network broad: “What is it about Mark Teixeria’s makeup that made you feel confident that he can handle the rigors of playing in a fishbowl like New York?”

Brian Cashman: “Heres a player that’s as talented as they come that typically…struggles in the early portions of the season…hes a notoriously slow starter. So he would deal with the crunches of ‘Where’s Mark Teixeira in April and May?’ and he’s gonna keep his eye on the prize…So he’s gonna come to New York, he’s gonna struggle early, and its not gonna phase him…But he will struggle in April and May like he’s done every year…”

Spend a hundred and eighty million dollars and then baby your investment so your ignorant fanbase hopefully doesn’t boo him after a couple at bats?
